The Bow Wow Club by Nicola May.

This is the follow up to Working It Out.  I didn't enjoy it as much as Working It Out but it was still a fun and easy book to read.

We see Ruby start volunteering at a bereavement club but don't be fooled into thinking that this means the book is a depressing one as this is far from the case.  I really like Ruby's character, she's so bubbly and vibrant.  Whilst Ruby was completing her 'twelve jobs in twelve months' challenge in Working It Out she met loads of crazy characters and this book is no different, we see the return of some favourites from the first book, plus there is a whole bunch of new colourful characters in The Bow Wow Club.

There are a few little twists in the book to keep things interesting, but really there is so much happening and so many characters that things are never boring in this story.

The only thing I didn't like about this book was the 'sex scenes' featuring in the book written by one of the main characters Michael, I just didn't think they fitted into the whole romantic feel of the story.  But on the whole it was a very warm, fun read which is really easy to pick up so would be perfect for holiday reading.

The back page blurb:
In this entertaining sequel to Working it Out Ruby never expected to be starting over... ...but after a shocking bereavement, she begins to question whether or not she will ever be happy again. A chance encounter with handsome author Michael Bell throws her fragile heart into turmoil. Plus, a dark family secret and completely unexpected love interest add to her confusion. Encouraged to face her demons, she volunteers at the Bow Wow Club - (Boyfriends of Widows, Wives of Widowers). You will laugh and cry along with a myriad of eccentric characters as Ruby searches for her inner peace. But will she let love win? Or allow her past to continue to haunt her?
